Introduction to CS Foundation
Company Secretary is a Legal expert certified by ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) to provide legal services to companies/firm/individuals in matters regarding, Registration of a Company/ LLP/ OPC, Legal compliance of a Company, Labor laws, FEMA, Direct and Indirect Tax. Section 2(51) of the Companies Act 2013 has recognized Company Secretary as Key Managerial Person (KMP). CS Foundation Exam is the entry level exam for Company Secretary Course offered by ICSI formed under Company Secretaries Act, 1980. It is a computer based multiple choice exam. Students are provided with computer and IT assistant is available to students at the time of exam. Students are allowed to carry normal Non Scientific calculators with them for CS Foundation exam. Exam is held on a single day in two sessions. Each session covering two subjects. There is no negative marking for CS Foundation exam for wrong answers. 

Eligibility for CS Foundation
Students who have appeared for 10+2 exams and are waiting for their result may also apply for provisional admission. They can submit proof of passing +2 within 6 months from the date of registration.

Exemption for CS Foundation
Students who have cleared any of the following
  • CA CPT
  • CMA Foundation
  • Bachelor Degree Holder from any stream except fine arts 
are Exempt from appearing in CS Foundation Porgramme

Important Dates for CS Foundation
Admission is open throughout the year. Examinations are held twice in a year
  • 31st March for appearing in December Examination in the same year
  • 30th September for June Examination next year
